Chris Brown Makes A Racist Joke

Chris Brown and Karrueche Tran have looked more in love than ever since Chris was released from jail on June 2. But in an Instagram post on June 19, Chris seemed to mock his girlfriend for her driving skills — and her ethnicity.
Chris Brown, 25, has been busy getting his life back on track after jail, but his new diss to his girlfriend (and biggest post-jail supporter) Karrueche Tran leaves us completely confused. In just one hashtag, Chris offended both Karrueche’s Vietnamese heritage and perpetuated an offensive stereotype.

Chris Brown’s Racist Joke About Karrueche Tran’s Driving On Instagram
In Chris’ car selfie, Karrueche looks gorgeous while playfully holding her hair in front of her lips. The seemingly-harmless photo’s caption is where things get offensive. “This b*tch scares me when she drive!! #goodluckeverybodyelse,” Chris captioned the photo.

In his #goodluckeverybodyelse hashtag, it seems like Chris is referring to a Family Guy episode that mocks Asian women for their driving skills. In the Family Guy scene, an Asian woman is seen driving a car. While driving, she says “good luck everybody else,” then cuts across lanes of traffic while hitting other cars and causing accidents. Do you think Chris was dissing Karrueche and referencing the episode?

Chris — if you were referring to the Family Guy episode that mocks Asian women drivers, that’s not OK. And as a minority yourself, why would you want to push along stereotypes that hurt people? Karrueche has been your biggest supporter since you left jail — she threw you a post-jail party and has planned sweet surprise dates to help you get out of the house. Karrueche is of Vietnamese and African American descent, and anyone who disses her roots is simply not cool. Even though you probably meant the post as a silly joke, remember that words can really hurt people.
