As talented as Wizkid, Tuface and Psquare are, they lost out at this year’s edition of MTV Africa Music Awards held in Durban, South Africa. They didn’t win a single award.
Apparently, Wizkid and Psquare knew they weren’t going to take a plaque home so they didn’t bother showing up at the event. Sexy actress, Omotola and Tubaba were also missing at the event.
Other notable artistes including Burna Boy, Olamide, Phyno, KCee and Dr Sid who were also nominated at the MAMAs, sadly did not win any award.
But Aye singer, Davido, Flavour, Tiwa Savage and Clarence Peters actually won big at the MAMAs.
Davido who won the awards for Artiste of the Year and Best Male also said, “I am so grateful to God and my fans. I am just 21 years old and I’m living my dreams. Thank you Africa.”
Mavin’s first lady, Tiwa, couldn’t stop appreciating her husband, TeeBillz, in front of Africa as she came to pick up her award.
The Eminado singer who won the award for Best Female said, “I just want to thank God, fans, 323 Entertainment, my label, Mavin… my producer and boss, Don Jazzy, and finally, I want to say thank you to the most handsome and amazing husband in the whole wide world, TeeBillz, who has put so much to make our story a success… thank you and I love you very much.”
Tiwa later performed a mash up of Surulere with Dr Sid, Don Jazzy and Phyno wearing a customised sequined boyfriend Tee-shirt which had “Mrs Billz” written across.
Dbanj is not called the Entertainer for nothing. Banga Lee, as he is also known as, showed Africa that he has got the talents and what it takes to entertain the world.
D’banj gave fans a huge surprise when he came out and performed alongside international artiste, Trey Songz.
Dbanj, who also presented the award for Best New Act, surprised fans as he and Trey Songz performed his monster track, Bottoms Up. The duo delivered an outstanding remix, which was specially done for the awards
