Rihanna and Nicki Minaj have never been close, but the divas have spent several years being nice to one another. Lately, the ladies have allegedly become bitter rivals, and the reason for the feud is Drake.
In a report from OK magazine, a source says that Minaj is not happy about how Rihanna is treating Drake. It has been reported that Drake and Rihanna have an on-and-off relationship, and the couple’s latest fallout allegedly took a lot out of Drake. A source said to OK that, “Drake has been really down since Rihanna dumped him. She really broke his heart. Nicki wants to call Rihanna out on it. She’s very protective of Drake.” The source also claimed that Minaj “wants Rihanna to get off her pedestal.”
Drake and Rihanna dated for a few months before calling it quits in May. Although the reason for the split is still unknown, reports are suggesting that Rihanna is not yet ready for a commitment.
It can be recalled that Minaj is certainly not afraid of confrontation. At the 2012 MTV Video Music Awards, she was caught telling Rihanna to “sit the [expletive] down” when the ‘We Found Love’ singer tried to hug the ‘Starships’ rapper after losing an award to her.
Many are speculating that Minaj is speaking out, not just because of her close friendship with Drake, but due to the fact that they've had a history together. Minaj famously said in one interview, “One day, I will run away with Drake and get married, but right now it’s just a fantasy.”
